Canadian Police have Arrested former Bears player Buster Skrine.

Police in Canada are searching for former Chicago Bears player Buster Skrine.

Chicago (WLS) — A former football player for the Chicago Bears is wanted by Canadian police.

On suspicion of fraud, Daryl Frank “Buster” Skrine Jr. was taken into custody at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport in the previous year.
Skrine was released on bond with a GPS tracking device last month.

He did not show up for court on Monday. Since then, his monitor has stopped working.


Police in Canada Are Pursuing Former NFL Cornerback Buster Skrine And Bears DB

The Durham Regional Police Department declared on Wednesday that they were looking for Buster Skrine, a former cornerback for the Chicago Bears.

The former professional defensive back was detained last year on suspicion of running a fraudulent banking scam, and he is currently wanted in Canada.
According to reports, the former NFL cornerback was initially detained in August of 2023 while attempting to return to the United States in Toronto, Canada.

Allegations that he scammed several Canadian banks of over $100,000 led to his arrest. Over the course of almost a year, Skrine allegedly used counterfeit checks to withdraw more than $100,000 in cash from multiple institutions, according to police in the Regional Municipality of Durham.

Skrine, who had been free on bond since April 12, never showed up on that date, according to Durham Regional Police Service, which said on Wednesday. Later, Skrine discovered his GPS ankle bracelet had also stopped working.

They are now trying to haul him back in and charge him with more felonies, such as neglecting to show up and disobeying the release order.

The authorities issue a statement,

The accused was given bail from a Saskatchewan Correctional Center on Friday, April 12, 2024, subject to adhering to a GPS tracking scheme and appearing in court in the Durham Region. The accused’s GPS monitor has since stopped working after he missed his May 6, 2024, court appearance. 34-year-old Darryl Frank SKRINE from  the USA is wanted for: Fail to Appear, and Fail to Comply with Release Order.”


After agreeing to a $16.5 million, three-year contract in 2019, Skrine spent two seasons with the Bears from 2019 to 2020. In 2021, he also played for the Tennessee Titans. The following offseason, he announced his retirement.
