Tennessee Titans Trade Promising Wide Receiver Amid Will Levis Era

he Tennessee Titans expect big things from quarterback Will Levis in his second year. They’ve already added some firepower around their cornerstone quarterback in an attempt to give the former Kentucky standout as many weapons at his disposal as possible.

One man who now appears to be out of the picture for the Titans’ Levis era is young wide receiver Treylon Burks. By the looks of it, Burks could no longer be part of the squad by the time the new season kicks in.

Tennessee Titans News: Time’s Up for Treylon Burks?

According to NFL analyst Aaron Schatz of ESPN, Burks has failed to make an impact in his first two seasons in Tennessee. The Titans had high hopes for the former Arkansas star when they scooped him up as the No. 18 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and it’s hard to deny that the young wideout has failed to live up to the lofty expectations.

At this point, it appears that time has run out for Burks:

“It’s clear that Burks has worn out his welcome in Tennessee after two disappointing seasons. The former first-round pick had just 16 receptions for 221 yards last season with no touchdowns, and coaches are talking about Burks needing to play special teams to solidify his roster spot. He’s probably fifth on the depth chart at this point, so it would behoove the Titans to send him to another team, get him a fresh start and bring in some draft capital to use in 2025,” Schatz wrote.

A clean slate would probably work wonders for Burks, who just hasn’t been able to find his feet with the Titans. There are a number of teams who could be interested in the services of the 24-year-old, who still has a lot of potential in him.

It’s just that this potential does not look like it will be unlocked alongside Levis in Tennessee.
