Michael Irvin, the legendary Dallas Cowboys player, recently revealed devastating news about his health in an interview with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
The Hall of Fame receiver, who is 58, revealed to the publication that his 58-year-old wife Sandy has been battling early-onset Alzheimer’s for “5 or 6 years.”
Irvin allegedly stated that his wife requires full-time assistance, which is why they have a live-in caregiver. He allegedly claimed that she had difficulty speaking and moving.
He texted the Star-Telegram, saying, “If anyone has earned the right to stay in her house, MY WIFE HAS!!!” “I will honor that.” whatever it takes.
Since 1990, the couple has been wed.
In 2007, Irvin received his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
In 1988, he was selected by the Cowboys in the first round, 11th overall, out of Miami. He was a member of the team through the 1999 season, participating in three Super Bowl victories and hauling in 750 passes for 11,904 yards and 65 touchdowns.
