Former tight end for the Green Bay Packers Before the 2024 season, Marcedes Lewis Has a Brave Message for the Team, Jordan Love

Almost everything the Green Bay Packers had planned to do this offseason has been completed. They strengthened a position that has been one of their main vulnerabilities over the past few years by signing Xavier McKinney, the top safety available as a free agent. In addition, they signed Josh Jacobs, the 2022 NFL rushing leader, who was the finest running back available as a free agent.

Some of their decisions, however, have been difficult. Releasing five-time All-Pro David Bakhtiari was expected due to his immense salary cap hit, but was unfortunate nonetheless, especially since he had been hurt for so long. The release of Aaron Jones, however, came as a massive surprise (and not the good kind). His subsequent signing with the Minnesota Vikings made the move even more of a blow to the fanbase.

Signing quarterback Jordan Love to a contract extension is the last item on the Packers’ offseason to-do list, and it will be a significant one.

Jordan Love, the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, is receiving a big contract extension.
Many anticipated that Love and the Packers would consent to a contract extension as soon as he was able to once the offseason got underway. Estimates at the time put his new contract’s annual salary at $46-48 million. But since then, the quarterback market has changed.

Jared Goff recently signed a $212 million, four-year contract with the Detroit Lions. At the time of his agreement, he received the second-highest yearly compensation in the NFL, $53 million.

More recently, the Jacksonville Jaguars gave Trevor Lawrence a massive five-year $275 million extension. This will pay Lawrence $55 million a year, which ties him with Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals for the highest annual salary in the NFL.

Former Green Bay Packers Tight End Marcedes Lewis Send a Message on Social Media Regarding Jordan Love In a recent episode of NFL Live on ESPN, analyst Louis Riddick argued that the Packers should not wait any longer to sign Love to his extension. He argued that the longer they wait, the more expensive he will be. And after all, Love is the future of their franchise. In a comment on the video of Riddick’s argument, former Packers fan-favorite (and current Chicago Bears tight end) Marcedes Lewis sent a three-word message to Green Bay:

As seen, the 19-year NFL veteran is of the opinion that Love is worth whatever the Packers end up paying him.

That is some pretty high praise from one of the best character guys in the league.
