Malik Nabers of the Giants ignites a feud with Trevon Diggs by being forthright.

Malik Nabers, a rookie wide receiver from LSU, is the new weapon for the New York Giants. When asked who he would like to face in the NFL, Nabers mentioned Trevon Diggs of the Dallas Cowboys, sparking a heated discussion on X, the old Twitter platform. Diggs retweeted a fan-made video promoting the game from the Cowboys.
Then, Trevon Diggs shared a statement on social media that read, “Giants been getting belt for some years now.”

Malik Nabers responded to this by sharing a screenshot of the lines from NBA YoungBoy’s song “Boot Up.”

The lyrics Nabers put on X read, “P**** want to Insta’ beef, he Tweetin’ and I see all of that.”

Diggs’ remarks are obviously being noted by Nabers, who will keep them in mind when the Giants take on the Cowboys this season. Diggs answered with one more post, this one straightforward and emoji-filled.
The Cowboys and Giants will play Thursday Night Football at MetLife Stadium in Week 4, which is when Nabers and Diggs will first face each other. That NFC East game early in the season might be very important. The Giants are not expecting much, but this might be a statement game if they have a strong start. The Cowboys  will try to continue their dominance in this rivalry.

In Week 13, the Giants will travel to Dallas for a Thanksgiving game on November 28. This will be the second meeting between these two teams, which will occur on a Thursday. Where both clubs stand in the standings at that stage of the season is a matter of time.

Diggs is correct when he says that the Giants have lost their long-standing rivalry with the Cowboys. The Cowboys have an all-time record of 75-47-2, and the Giants have only had a 3-13 record versus Dallas since Dak Prescott became the team’s starting quarterback in 2018.

The Cowboys were dominant in both games in 2023 against the Giants. In week 1, Dallas came away with a 40-0 win on the road at MetLife Stadium, which was a rude awakening for a Giants team that had playoff hopes entering the season. Later in the year, the Cowboys beat New York 49-17.

Obviously, the Giants are hoping for a better showing in both games this upcoming season, and Nabers is hoping to provide a spark for an offense that has been towards the bottom of the league for the most part in recent years. It will certainly be interesting to see how he fares against Diggs, who has become one of Dallas’ more important players on defense, but is coming off of a torn ACL from 2023.
