Philadelphia Eagles Make Trade Offer for Capable Tight End
This NFL offseason, Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles have not held back. Everything has gone extremely smoothly, from the acquisition of star running back Saquon Barkley to the outstanding class of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Most clubs have been quiet about roster changes as training camp approaches and the offseason draws to a conclusion. Nevertheless, there are a ton of talented players available in free agency and a ton of players that might be acquired for a reasonable price on the trade market.
Could the Philadelphia Eagles look to get involved in a potential trade prior to the start of training camp?

One potential position that the team could look to add more depth to is tight end.
Dallas Goedert is clearly the starter, but behind him there are question marks. C.J. Uzomah does not look to be the same player he was a couple years back and behind him there’s nothing of real value at the position.
That could lead the Philadelphia Eagles to consider pursuing a trade.
ClutchPoints has recently suggested that Houston Texans tight end Brevin Jordan could make sense for the Eagles. He would be able to compete for the backup job and has shown flashes of potential when given a chance.
During the 2023 season with the Texans, Jordan did not receive much of a role with the team. He caught 17 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns on the season.
While the numbers aren’t huge, they’re impressive for the role that he played. Jordan is capable of making plays.
At 6-foot-3 and 245 pounds, Jordan can move well and create mismatches against opposing linebackers. For a quarterback like Jalen Hurts, he could become a security blanket in two tight end sets.
Goedert has also dealt with a track record of injury issues. If he goes down, Jordan would be able to step in and be a serviceable starter for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jordan would probably only require a late-round selection to be acquired. Maybe a sixth-round pick might even close a deal. The Eagles should seize the opportunity to acquire him if it turns out to be a reasonable price range.
Even though all of this is purely hypothetical, it’s still an interesting scenario. Jordan would be a logical target for Philadelphia if they decide to pursue a tight end, as they could use more depth at that position.
